Contemporary renovation in Poisy: elegance, sustainability and energy performance
In Poisy, this detached house is getting a new lease of life through a thermal and aesthetic renovation designed to stand the test of time. A discreet yet ambitious project that modernises the existing structure while blending seamlessly into the local residential landscape.
A home rooted in its natural surroundings
Set on a wooded plot of over 1,000 m², the house retains its original footprint. Located in a quiet neighbourhood of two-storey detached houses, it integrates harmoniously into a green setting bordered by open spaces and natural vegetation.
Renovated façade: a dialogue between local tradition and contemporary touches
The façade renovation plays on contrasting materials: timber cladding with the appearance of Japanese Yakisugi charred wood — both aesthetic and weather-resistant — is combined with a light, hand-trowelled render. This interplay of textures adds visual warmth and a distinctly contemporary character to the house’s façade.
On the façade Est, an enlarged opening features an adjustable aluminium brise soleil in anthracite grey, providing solar protection and visual comfort. The old wooden shutters have been replaced with discreet roller shutters, giving the façade a sleek and modern look.
Enhanced insulation and sustainable materials
External thermal insulation improves energy performance without compromising the architectural style. Roof windows have been replaced with more efficient models, equipped with solar-powered roller blinds for greater comfort throughout the year.
A renovation that respects its surroundings
This carefully considered renovation introduces a new sense of modernity while respecting the character of the site. It reflects a sustainable, understated and elegant approach to transforming individual housing.
