Parmelan Villa

Architectural project in Annecy-le-Vieux

Typology : detached house + midwife practice

Location : Annecy (74)

Project timeline : 2021

Area : 256 m2

Mission : planning permission + PRO

This architectural project reimagines and modernizes a traditional Savoyard villa, integrating a contemporary extension with a CLT frame. Located in Annecy-le-Vieux, the renovation aims to harmonize the existing architecture with a subtle and elegant intervention, while enhancing comfort and the functionality of the spaces.

An extension designed for well-being

The extension, designed as a minimalist volume, accommodates a midwifery office, offering a luminous and calming workspace. Its vertical wood cladding, in subtle contrast with the traditional red-tiled roof, creates a visual dialogue between vernacular architecture and contemporary design. The choice of natural materials ensures a smooth integration into the landscape, while giving a warm aesthetic to the façade.

Natural light and outdoor connection

Large glazed openings maximize natural light, promoting optimal thermal comfort and creating a seamless connection between interior and exterior. The entrance is marked by a protective overhang, offering a natural transition between the public space and the consulting area.

Bioclimatic and sustainable architecture

This project exemplifies a bioclimatic and sustainable architectural approach, where solar energy, captured by the photovoltaic panels on the roof, contributes to the house’s energy autonomy. The dialogue between simple volumes, contemporary lines, and natural materials defines a signature architectural style that is both modern and timeless.

With this renovation, Villa Parmelan embodies a balance between tradition and innovation, offering architecture that is both functional, environmentally respectful, and designed for the well-being of its occupants.
